Plant your feet in the sand and watch the waves roll in as the traffic of Mt Lavinia Beach frolic. Apart from this initial attraction the rest of our experience was somewhat forgettable.
We did have some great service and a man that seemed to be the owner or Venue Manager acquiesced to our request to prepare hot butter cuttlefish which we ordered because we were somewhat disappointed by the look of the entirely western menu. The staff were on point, appearing efficient with bringing our drinks and generally providing good service.
The lack of Sri Lankan cuisine made it easy to simply enjoy a few beers on the beach and settle the bill. As such I can’t really attest to the quality of the French, English and other western gourmet that made up most of the menu.
Unfortunately as we were enjoying the lager, a rather large showed up between my friend Tara’s toes before disappearing under the bar. This left me thankful of heeding to my grandmothers advice and wearing shoes on my feet that day. It also made obvious our decision not to invest any more time and money on this particular dining experience.
All in all, despite the quality of service and beautiful location, I’m not sure if I would ever revisit The Lavinia Breeze Hotel and Restaurant.
