Nivasa
Let Nivasa be your perfect lunch/brunch spot this weekend. Perched on the courtyard of Nivasa Boutique Hotel, this restaurant is shrouded with trees, potted plants and nature-inspired elements and for a moment you'll forget that you're in the heart of a city full of hustle and bustle. In terms of food, we highly recommend their Shakshuka and the Breakfast Burger, which you can pair up with a glass of Pineapple Juju or Kopi Cooler.
BBQ Avenue
BBQ Avenue does some good BBQ along with a range of dishes that leans towards Indian fare and offer them in buffet style. Plus, the grill is literally on your table. Quite worth every rupee of the Rs. 2499 you pay for it.
Pitstop Cafe
If you live in the vicinity of Thalawatugoda, drop by Pitstop Cafe. They do some great Mac & Cheese and we quite enjoyed the Hazelnut Chocolate Macchiato and the Peach Iced Tea we tried here as well.
PJ's Cafe
PJ's Cafe is the new kid on the block and does the best Tuna Sandwich we've had in a while, among other things. They bake their own bread which is even better than your usual kadey paan. This is easily a good spot t0 grab some coffee too; we're quite happy with the Piccolo Cafe Latte and Iced Mocha we had here.
Roo's Deli
If staying at home while binge-watching your favourite show is your plan for this weekend, order up a chicken lamprais from Roo's Deli so you can save a few hours at the kitchen. Their take on lamprais is not authentic, but absolutely aromatic and flavoursome.
