Saves Money
No more eating out, shopping, weekend tipples, getaways, movie dates, or high tea sessions; not at least for a while, because all of the public places in the country are temporarily closed down. All the money you've been keeping for them are safe in your bank, without any effort, along with the budgets you usually allocate for commuting. However, it won't be very effective if you're too into quarantine snacks.
Zero Commuting
From bed to table/kitchen/bathroom? Yeah, none of that gonna cost you a rupee. And no traffic or crowds! What a relief!
No Office Politics
You always don't get a say in what sort of colleagues you want to work with. Therefore, it's only natural if you're not the biggest fan of some of them, due to many, many reasons. In fact, a part of why you find your job so stressful could be because of them. Nonetheless, when you work remotely, you don't have to engage with them on a personal level as you do at the office.
Cosy Zone
It's always better to go with a setup that's similar to the environment at your office workstation, as it helps you to avoid distractions, especially if you're new to this. However, for those of you who are used to working remotely, the workstation could be on your sofa, your balcony, or the table next to your kitchen. Home is your cosy zone, and you can embed your workstation anywhere in it, and that helps you work in a very relaxed manner.
A Schedule Of Your Own
Even if you have deadlines, you can deliver them on time, while working according to a self-designed schedule. Let's say that you're a night owl who works more efficiently during the night, in comparison to the daytime. In that case, you don't really have to start your workday at 8.30 AM. You can easily finish up the work the night before, submit it then and there, wake up a little late and proceed with the rest.
However, not all companies encourage this sort of flexibility, so you might want to check that with your boss too.
Grows Your Self Confidence
It is true that your colleagues are one message away, in case if you want some help with a task. But, when you work remotely, it lets you become a self-learner, because, despite the tight deadlines you may have, you also have plenty of time to figure things out.
You can easily take an hour or more to do a Google search or to go through a guidebook to gain the knowledge that you lack in something. That way, you teach yourself, while developing and sharpening up your skills on your own, which ultimately grows self-confidence. Such independence is definitely a blessing for your entire career.
Better Life/Work Balance
You should absolutely seize this opportunity to spend more time with your family. We work hard so we can make good money and it surely can give a better life for our loved ones, but what we don't realise is how it drags us away from them. Truth is, this work-life equation is quite unfair and unbalanced.
But, now that you're working from home, you have enough time for your family. Whether it be having a proper conversation or bonding over an activity, you can do all of them while doing what you do to make a living. Let it loosen you up a bit and relax your mind. Even it's for a small time period, it's totally worth it.
