Street Grill
Street Grill isn't about just takeaway anymore – now they've got a spot down Thalawathugoda Road with a dining space. Aside from perfectly grilled pork, beef, chicken and sausages stuffed in wraps, burgers and submarines, Street Grill also has a bomb of a Black Pork curry, which they offer with two loaves of Roast Paan, Pol Sambol and Dhal curry. Almost everything on the menu is under Rs. 500, which makes it quite budget-friendly.
Playtrix Sports Bar & Cafe
One of the most popular sports bars in Colombo, Playtrix is a place for both sports-enthusiasts and foodies. We absolutely enjoyed their Bacon Kochchi Cheese Toast, as well as the Buffalo Wings. They also offer a solid deal for their Mixed Grill, which is an assortment of two strips of bacon, two fillets of chicken, two eggs (sunny side up), one chicken sausage, one pork sausage, one beef fillet, one pork tenderloin, corn on the cob, and a side salad.
Their usual events are back in action too, so block out this Friday evening for the ladies' night.
Banda's Biriyani
Banda's Biriyani is all about clay pot biriyani. Their portions are huge and in terms of flavour, it has a very Sri Lankan touch to it. If you live in Nugegoda and looking for a quick lunch or dinner fix without having to spend too much, this serves as an option.
Kimbúla
Kimbúla is a home baker specialised in kimbulas and they do a quite good job at it. With a whole bunch of sweet and savoury kimbulas they're very creative when it comes to flavours. If we had to pick a favourite, we'd go with the Nutella Kimbula and the Cheese & Tuna Kimbula.
However, everything is Rs. 250 and upwards, which is a bit too heavy on the wallet.
The Fish and Chips Colombo (Street Rush)
As the name implies, The Fish & Chips does Fish & Chips. During our First Look, we managed to try their Sri Lankan Spicy Fish & Chips, which had a light, crispy batter infused with a whole bunch of Sri Lankan spices. Quite good!
