Bombay Borough (One Galle Face)
We finally reviewed Bombay Borough, and if you've got some cash, it's worth checking out. Perched on the ground floor of One Galle Face, they're one of the most expensive restaurants in the city for Indian food. Highlighting ‘hyper-local’ Indian cuisine is their intention, and they do it well. For example, the above bowlful of Mutton Biriyani is infused with Potli Masala, which is also a bouquet garni – a bundle of herbs that's being used during the cooking and taken out prior to consumption.
Holly's Street Food
If you live in Kotte, check out Holly's Street Food down Kimbulawala Walk Way for some delicious hotdogs, pork/chicken curry combos, and excellent Gulab Jamun. Make sure you try their homemade Mustard Sauce, it's superb!
Cafe Rafaella
If you haven't been to Cafe Rafaella yet, you're missing our top pick for pasta. Go through the black gate right next to Giovanni's – that's where they're at.
Rolling Kitchen
This is a grill on wheels, i.e., a food truck down Kimbulawala Walking Path. If you're around, looking for BBQ, this is an option. Take a friend with you if you're planning to order the Pork Submarine – it's quite hefty!
The Daily Staple
Kick start this weekend with a healthy note, by dining at The Daily Staple. Their food is curated for both health-conscious folks and its opposite kind. From what we gathered, now they've got a revamped menu with lots and lots of new stuff, including homemade ice cream.
