Home to thirty school-going girls, the Shilpa Children’s Trust is located in a tiny corner on Nawala road. The Trust was founded in 1987.
In keeping with the name of the home Shilpa; the home provides a good education and skills training. The Children’s Home is a secure home for the thirty girls with two dormitories, study and recreational rooms, a library, an administrative office and a computer room. It has its own very cosy and homely atmosphere, perfect in an imperfect world for these young girls.
The Home also ensures that they are provided with further training, university education, secure accommodation outside the centre and job placements once they reach 18 years of age. The girls continue to remain a part of the Shilpa family and participate in Shilpa functions, trips and celebrations.
If you would like to help you can help the home by contributing to the general fund, educational and medicinal needs, or you can sponsor a child by paying a monthly sum of Rs 3000 per child. By doing this, you ensure a young girl will have her basic needs met. Alternatively, you can provide or finance the meals of thirty girls.
