Dynasty is a restaurant located on the third floor of the Grand Monarch Hotel. We popped in for some lunch and here's what we thought.
Food
Dynasty has an extensive menu consisting of both Chinese and Indian items. We opted for the Chinese menu and we were really underwhelmed. We started off with a Wonton Soup (Rs. 610). The menu stated it was sufficient for 3 people and by that they meant that each person would get two wontons. Three would be really pushing it and we think that this is enough for two people or just one if you really love wontons. The soup smelled strongly of peanuts, which we really liked but it tasted quite bland. The wontons were good, they had a nice chunk of seasoned chicken.
We also ordered Dynasty's Seafood Fried Rice (Rs. 690) accompanied with some Kung Pao Chicken (Rs. 710) and Fried Bean Curd in Hot Garlic Sauce (Rs. 710). The rice was very bland, it lacked seasoning and it was really disappointing although the portion was quite big and a small could be shared by 3-4 people. The chicken was quite flavoursome and had a good balance between sweet and spice, as did the bean curd which was soft with strong flavors and a good amount of spice to it.
Service and Ambiance
Service was really good, and the staff was friendly and attentive. They made suggestions to our meal and kept coming around to serve more from time to time.
The restaurant was decorated around tones of blue and grey, which was very pleasing. Moreover, they have a beautiful terrace and view outside.
Conclusion
We didn't have the best experience at Dynasty, but the location was nice and service was really good. It was quite pricey, but most restaurants within hotels are. We can't vouch for their Indian menu, so if you've tried it, let us know what you think!
