Say Cheese is a home baker that's specialised in some creamy cheesecakes.
If all you're looking for is a quick bite to satisfy that craving that surfaced all out of the blue, they have slices of their various flavours at Rs. 350 a piece. But if that does not satisfy you, and you're the "go big or go home" sort of person, you will have to order the full cakes that range from Rs. 3000 – Rs. 3500.
Being a person who falls under the latter category, we decided to go for an entire cheesecake, and also placed our order a day prior just to be on the safe side.
The Cheesecake
The aroma hit us like a truck, wafting into the air, teasing our tastebuds, compelling us to not delay our first bite.
You can't build a great building on a weak foundation. Similarly, an amazing cheesecake has to have an amazing base, and the base of this cheesecake was mindblowing.
Hard and crunchy, the base had a slightly salty taste, but in a good way, and was a great addition to the cake.
The texture of the cheesecake itself is quite gooey, and different from the usual, hard texture you get. It had a more of a pudding texture, but that does in no way deteriorate the taste of the cheesecake. The top of the cheesecake was adorned with gooey, passion fruit seeds, and they had a layer of passion fruit on the top of the cake, thus keeping a consistent flavour of passion fruit throughout.
How To Order
They deliver to locations in Colombo and their slices are also available on Uber Eats. You can contact them via their Instagram page and ask them for their menu, or use the contact number mentioned this review. Delivery to Dehiwala will cost an additional Rs. 300.
Conclusion
Although the flavour of the cheesecake was alright, the texture was not what we expected. It did not have that cakey texture, and unlike other cheesecakes, was not sour. If they do work on the texture and improve the flavour a bit more, it would be amongst our first preferences for sure.
