Happy New Year from everyone at YAMU. We hope 2015 is blessed and peaceful for all of our readers and friends, like Nazly, who kindly let us use his awesome photo from the festivities at Galle Face Green last night.
Last year YAMU grew from something run out of a house (or actually, a few houses in succession) to having an office on Duplication Road, albeit one up five flights of stairs with no elevator. We also went from three people to nine, with Bhagya and Shifani joining on content, Rishani on events, Helmali on much-needed admin and – more recently – Dinesh on sales and Thilina on web/app development. We’re almost a grown up company and a lot of it happened in 2014.
We should also thank our informal board of the Mathews and Samarajiva families, especially Manjula Mathews, as well as Uncle Eardley and Anushka.
Also a special thanks to everyone who’s had the confidence to advertise with us. We are continually trying to improve our service to you and make advertising that truly adds value to our readers and your businesses.
And of course, all of our readers. We hope you are enjoying what you’re doing and you can look forward to more in the year to come like (hopefully) more coverage across Sri Lanka, menus, less crappy videos and more.
Suba aluth avuruddak weva!
