Fuel'd serves healthy food, but they've also got some great options if you want to take a break from the calorie counting. Located inside Zimantra Leisure Center in Battaramulla, it's a quite nice space if you're in the area and looking for a place to grab a bite.
Food
Fuel'd offers all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner. We opted for the Fully Loaded Omelette (Rs. 1230) and the Grilled Chicken & Mash (Rs. 950).
The Fully Loaded Omelette is a protein-packed treat. A giant omelette stuffed with chicken, cheese, pol sambol, mushroom, pol sambol, bacon and sausages, it was brilliant. The omelette was well done and had bits of tomato and green chillies embedded, and they're quite generous with the meats too. Lightly seasoned and sauteed, the filling had a tinge of sweetness to it.
They have a healthier edition of this – the Loaded Omelette, which has all the other elements except bacon and sausages.
The Grilled Chicken & Mash features a serving of grilled, pulled chicken, presented on a bed of mashed potato/sweet potato (we got the latter), along with a side of grilled veggies and a helping of bread. While there was a lot of meat, we'd have preferred it as a grilled chicken thigh/leg, because it'd look more elegant with the other components at play.
Nonetheless, the flavour here was quite good. Seasoned with a garlicky, peppery and slightly sweet sauce, the chicken was grilled well, soft and juicy, while the mashed sweet potato was creamy as hell.
Drinks
As for drinks, they've got shakes, coffee and healthy smoothies.

The Chocolate Protein Shake (Rs. 550) will definitely get you fueled up, pre/post-workout. It has a good chocolate flavour to boot, along with a shot of protein powder, and seem to have made with non-dairy milk.
I can't stand the idea of having spinach or banana in my drinks, but it took me only a few minutes to gulp down this Green Smoothie (Rs. 450). The kahata and fruity notes of the banana really did the trick here, along with the earthy kicks of spinach, while the pineapple and ginger neatly balance out the flavour.
Ambience & Service
Quaint and well-kept, the interior here is quite charming. And look at these chairs! It surely reminded us of a school classroom.
The area gets a bit smoky due to all the cooking, but we didn't mind. Instead, we happily enjoyed the smell of it.
The three ladies who run the operations here were welcoming, super friendly and helpful.
Conclusion
It's another spot in town that once again proves how delicious healthy food can get. An absolute must try, if you're in the area.
