Food
Clocking in at Rs. 950, the Devilled Beef was well flavoured. With just the right amount of sauce, it had the perfect balance between sweet and spicy, which we could taste from each and every piece of its soft, albeit chewy beef.
The Cuttlefish Nasi goreng (Rs. 1250) tasted more like a regular fried rice, and not but was value for money as it's easily sharable between three people. Leaning towards the spicy side, there were plenty of cuttlefish to go around, as well as colourful bell pepper, carrot and spring onions. The winner of our meal here was this Black Pork Curry (Rs. 950). Served in a clay pot, it was packed with a delicious blend of spices, curry leaves and rampe, creating that unique flavour profile and aroma that makes any good black pork curry irresistible. The meat itself was absolutely soft, and even the fatty bits didn't seem so fatty as they were cooked to perfection.
We also ordered a Sri Lankan-style Omelette (Rs. 450), which involved a heap of green chillies and onions. Pretty basic, but no complaints.
Ambience & Service
Located down Initium Road, Dehiwala, this spot is right on the beach. They have arranged separate booths with a good distance from each other, so it's more of a private setting for your hangout. Fueled by good music and a breath of fresh sea breeze to boot, it's absolutely relaxing and pretty cosy in its own way.
The service was excellent. Friendly, inviting, accommodating and helpful.
Conclusion
We loved it. They're at a great location, serve some superb bites, and quite affordable. Definitely an option to consider for your next boozy sesh.
