Walking into the restaurant, you are greeted by some warm smiles and pleasant greetings. Asanka, the restaurant manager, was very kind and welcoming. They directed us to our seat where we had our menus already sitting at the table.
The ambiance
The staff were lovely and made sure we were always comfortable and happy in our seats. There was very soothing music playing in the background while we conversed with each other at the table.
Beverages
For beverages, we ordered: chocolate milkshake, strawberry milkshake, watermelon juice & lime juice.
The Chocolate Milkshake was creamy and delicious but was not smooth enough, it felt a bit like half-melted chocolate ice cream when you get closer to the bottom of the drink. The Strawberry milkshake was absolutely delicious, even though it was very sweet, I enjoyed it. If you are someone with a sweet tooth, you’ll love it, too! The Watermelon juice was also tasty and felt very homemade and authentic. The Lime juice, however, was very zesty but had the perfect balance of sweet and sour.
We ended up finishing up our drinks too soon and ended up ordering bottles of Coca-Cola. It is an all-you-can-eat (and drink) after all!
Chocolate milkshake: 7/10
Strawberry milkshake: 9/10
Watermelon juice: 7/10
Lime juice: 7/10
Appetizers
We had quite a few interesting appetizers to choose from such as Seafood cocktails, Chicken nuggets with Spicy Mayo, tomato & Onion bruschetta, Kochchi balls, Batter fried fish with spicy cocktail sauce, Mini chicken & cheeseburgers.
However, we decided to go ahead with the Chicken nuggets with spicy mayo, Kochchi balls, Batter fried fish with spicy cocktail sauce, Mini chicken & cheeseburgers and we did not regret it!
The mini burgers came as a trio and were perfectly sized appetizers. The Kochchi balls, Batter Fried Fish, and the Chicken Nuggets were fresh & absolutely delicious when dipped into their very own spicy mayo sauce. I would 9/10 recommend!
Soups
The soups of the day were cream of Mushroom & the Cream of Chicken. We tried both the non-veg (with chicken) and the veg soups which tasted delicious. I am not a soup-person in general but this soup was a game changer. We dipped the fresh dinner buns into the hot soup and enjoyed every bite of it. We even ordered more bread rolls and the waiter was happy to serve us.
Mains
When it came to the mains, we went a bit crazy. How could you not? We had such a great selection of dishes to choose from! We ordered a chicken biriyani, a chinese set menu- cuttlefish, chicken lasagna, and chicken alfredo pasta.
The best word to describe the Chicken Biriyani is ‘authentic’. I have personally never tasted such a flavorsome Biriyani. The Biriyani included a generous piece of chicken, a deep-fried boiled egg, and delicious masala curry. This dish deserves a rating of 9/10.
The Chinese set menu didn’t let me down either, we chose fried rice over fried noodles. The portions of rice and cuttlefish were very generous and equally tasty as well. I would give it a rating of 8/10.
The Chicken Lasagna & the Chicken Alfredo pasta also tasted delicious. However, since the restaurant uses genuine cheese, there was a strong odor that was pouring out from these two dishes, mainly the Chicken Alfredo pasta dish which was disappointing because it tasted good, but the odor was so strong it made me lose my appetite.
I addressed this concern with the manager, Asanka and he was so appreciative and humble. He thanked us for our honest feedback and constructive criticism which is the best reaction you could expect.
Dessert
To be honest, we were so satisfied, we didn’t have any room left for dessert, however, we couldn’t resist the delicious desserts we had to choose from so we went ahead and ordered Chocolate Mousse & Caramel pudding.
The Chocolate Mousse was soft in terms of texture, however, it was not as tasty as it looked. This could be because it wasn’t served at the right temperature meaning it was not cold enough.
But in terms of taste, I would rate it as 6/10.
The Caramel Pudding, however, was delicious. It held its shape well, it wasn’t too sweet, it was just right. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and softness. I would rate it as 8/10.
