Are you struggling to decide where you could have a decent fancy dinner night with your significant other today? Reserve a tranquil dinner setting overlooking a city view of Colombo at Ward 7.
Ambience
The location is built to set the mood of a romantic dinner escape beside an infinity pool and soft played music. While this restaurant is open from dawn to dusk we experienced a dinner atmosphere meant to enjoy intimacy, a lounge bar and good food.
The urban grounds of this restaurant is located in Jetwing Colombo 7 serving an intricate masterpiece of an indoor and outdoor facilitated space. Minding the brand essence of Jetwing, Ward 7 has mastered the quality of service and hospitality fit for a cosmopolitan location in the heart of Colombo.
Reservations are recommended to be placed prior for both indoor and outdoor seating. Ward 7 also serves a VIP service for loyalty members where your privilege include a reserved space for your friends and family as you prefer, with the request from the help desk or manager at the restaurant.
The food
An exclusive treatment is served to all guests at the patio and in the indoor of the restaurant controversially. So, prior to recommending their menu, they have an excellence in hospitality and an attribute of proper service provided for their guests to enjoy a premium dining experience.
Their cosmopolitan menu is flexibly customized based on your preferences, For example, if you prefer to not be served pork or alcohol, there is always an alternative to enrich the taste of their cuisine without regrets.
The Mocktail and Mojito
Two words to describe: Flavourful and exotic. We were guided to try out the Gliadel cocktail, which could also be converted to a mocktail. The beverage is generally concocted with sparkling wine, strawberry fruit mix, mint leaves and freshly squeezed lime juice.
The passion mojito was a mix of sour and sweet as the juice was prepared with a larger ratio of fresh passion fruit. You can mention your sweet tooth preference as you like on your drinks accordingly.
Appetizing appetizers
The Crostini and mini burger platter was significantly arranged with a touch of Italian palate.
The plate includes a pizza named the Flammekueche. The pizza can be recommended as per your meat preference from chicken or vegetarian if Pork bacon is not your go-to meat.
The plate could be pricey, but if this tray is shared among 2 guests, the platter can be enjoyed as we did. The platter includes two sliders served each, of the Chicken Cordon Bleu burger and the Hot smoked Beef Shank Burger. The Beef Shank could improvise flavour in terms of spice, but if you have a mild spice craving, this beef slider could fit you perfectly.
The specialty of the Garlic baguette, is that it separates itself from your usual garlic bread with their Jaffna Chili Marinated Paneer Tikka. This could be one of those succulent vegetarian options we have tried off their menu.

Mains from the Meat Eaters
We, along with Ward 7 recommend another signature special called the Sous Vide Organic Free Range Chicken. A slow cooked meal, that vacuum seals the meat and prepared in a constantly monitored, precise temperature water. The chicken was braised beautifully with a saucy flavour, blended well with the servings of grilled carrots, the Arugula salad, a spectacular hummus – specially the best we’ve tasted. The olive oil was garnished at the right amount and could be dipped with their pita bread or anything that you could feel like trying the dip with, guiltlessly.

From The Wheat and Rice Menu
If you opt to try out a seafood specialty, Ward 7 prepared a delicacy of richly handmade linguine with seafood, served with a well-done jumbo prawn grill and traces of cuttlefish. Along with the period of time taken to deliver every new dish we ordered from the menu, there was ample time to digest this succulent pasta dish. A definite need to try for the hungry couple out there!

The Pastry Library – Desserts
We were served a satisfying portion of the Eton Mess, which is a crushed meringue, neatly assembled with cut strawberries, droops of Crème Chantilly, assorted with a side of Rose Sorbet Ice cream. As creamy as the dessert was, the meringue should be appreciated by the carefully spiralled structure plated to feast the eyes.

Secondly, the Middle Eastern Tres Leches Cake was an experience of toasty – soft baked cake served with a dollop of Sour Ice Cream or you could request for a flavour of your choice. The spark of the cake is unique by the taste of lime zest grated within the cake and served warm, unlike the usual cold served milky tres leches.

Overall, the dining experience is a calm and a mix of eclectic setting that you can soak yourself in those comfortable chairs on the patio, facing the luminous infinity pool, sipping your favourite drink or relaxing after enjoying an appetizing meal on the deck.
