Cloud Lounge is located on the rooftop of the building where Habibiz Sri Lanka is at. Their main focus is shisha but they do have a few snacks available too, which are surprisingly good.
Food
Their menu is very straightforward – an array of nibbles, dessert items, juices as well as mocktails, along with tea and coffee to wash them down.
There were five sizeable deep-fried wings in this plate of Chicken Wings (Rs. 450) we chose. Even though it looked a bit dry at a glance, since it was fried with the skin, it had retained moisture and was juicy to the bone.
The meat was marinated well, cooked all throughout and the flesh and easily fell off the bone. Surprisingly not too oily, it came accompanied with ketchup but there really isn’t a need for it because the chicken itself is already flavourful on its own.
We really didn’t expect much when we decided to order the Strawberry Nutella Waffle (Rs. 500), but boy we were in for a treat! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the waffle was the perfect base for a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream, a generous slathering of Nutella, and sliced strawberries. The flavour of Nutella complemented the almost perfect waffle while the ice cream and strawberries just took the whole thing to the next level. They pulled off this classic flavour combo well and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Drinks
As for drinks, we got the Blue Wink (Rs. 590) and a Passion & Mint Juice (Rs. 380).
In the Blue Wink, the Red Bull dominated the flavour while somewhat drowning out all the others. It was indeed blue, coming from the Blue Curacao syrup and we could detect a hint of strawberry aftertaste. Occasionally we got a bit of tang from the slices of lime it had swimming around.
Except being a bit of a curveball with the taste, as a whole, the drink gave a good Red Bull punch with a blast of refreshment, while looking good.
We really expected a different presentation with the Passion and Mint Juice (Rs. 380) but tastewise, it delivered. It was indeed filled with sweet and mildly tangy passion fruit flavour, making for a refreshing drink.
Service & Ambience
Being on the rooftop, you have an open and spacious place to sit and relax. There was a separate area with cushion seats, while the other area near the counter had a few normal, but comfy chairs and tables.
All of it can comfortably hold about 25- 30 people as we observed.
We got our menu right away and our food came to us without any delay. They were keen on feedback and polite throughout. Given that it has plenty of ventilation, they seem to have curated this space well for shisha sessions.
Conclusion
We were positively surprised by the quality of food they did, and are happy to see that they are not just focusing on shisha. The prices here are decent too and we felt we got our money’s worth when it comes to food.
