When Gonuts with Donuts started off they were all the craze. Now many years down the line, the hype has died down, their prices have gone up, but they’re still pretty decent.
Doughnuts
Gonuts was and still remains the only real place that offers specialized doughnuts and we’re thankful for that. At the beginning they only had the sweet doughnuts, but now they’ve added in a savory range, as well as what they call Chibos, which are pretty much hot dogs made of doughnut bread. The unfortunate part is that they no longer have a dine-in outlet so you have to either take away or have it delivered, both of which tend to mess up the presentation of the doughnut. All the doughnuts are priced between Rs. 110 – Rs. 125 each. We got an assorted 9 pack, so we’ll talk about the best and the worst of the bunch.
For a savory option we tried out their chicken and cheese doughnut, and it was pretty disappointing. It was more like sausage with light cheese sauce. Good thing we only got one.
The sweet doughnuts were considerably better, with the exception of the oreo doughnut which was pretty ordinary. Our favourites of the bunch were the butterscotch, Belgian chocolate mousse and the raspberry delight. If you ask us we’d say the best ones to go for are the doughnuts with the fillings.
The newest range that Gonuts has come up with is their “”Candy Donuts”” which are topped with gummies and jelly beans. We were pretty excited about it, but it when we opened up the box it was kind of a buzz kill since the gummy doughnut was pretty much just a regular glazed doughnut with 2 questionable gummies on it. It tasted fine, but really only 2 gummies?
Conclusion
Stick to the sweet doughnuts, they’re tried and tested.
