The Cheesecakes
*Pictured above: Kahlua Cheesecake (left), Blueberry Cheesecake (middle), Caramel Cheesecake (right)
From the available items, we opted for three – Kahlua (Rs. 650), Blueberry (Rs. 650) and Caramel (Rs. 600).
The Blueberry Cheesecake featured the usual layers – cracker base, cream filling in the middle, and the blueberry coulis on top, neatly tucked inside a jar.
The cracker base was light and had a tinge of butteriness to it, the cream filling was fluffy, creamy and slightly sweet, while the blueberry coulis adds a subtle fruity kick. A swirl of sourness in the cream filling would have made it perfect.
Sharing the same base and the middle, this cheesecake had a layer of caramel on top. It's the sweetest one out of the three, but not in an overpowering way, which we loved.
I love Kahlua, I love cheesecake, I love them both, which is why this is my favourite out of the lot – the Kahlua Cheesecake. With a handful of chocolate chips scattered about, its base was chocolaty, a wee bit crumbly than we would have liked, but it didn't stop us from indulging it. Every spoonful had that Kahlua zing popping through. This is a treat for those of you who love anything chocolate-based.
Conclusion
We enjoyed these cheesecake jars by JARS. The prices of the cheesecake are more or less similar to the ones in cafes, and you get to keep the jar. It's a solid option to go for, especially when your sweet tooth must be satisfied in home-quarantine.
