The Food
Samantha sent us her famous Chicken Biriyani with all the frills attached. Typical Indian style biriyani paired with good old raitha, a boiled egg and large pieces of chicken 65.
The rice was long grained basmati cooked to perfection and infused with the right amounts of spices and aromatics. It was fragrant and flavorful, beautifully cooked rice. Even the rhaita was perfectly balanced in terms of flavor.
The chicken 65, wow! Superb! The chicken was crispy and the batter was not too thick. The taste of the chicken was not overpowered by the batter. It was simply super!
The fact that I had the food a few hours later and it was still good, really impressed me.
She also sent us some kesari to go with the biriyani and it was the best darn kesari ever. This kesari was not oily or overly sweet. It was so nice to eat good kesari after so long.
Finally, she also sent some of her payasam which did not have any added sugar except jaggery. It was filled generously with vermicelli and cashews. Top tier stuff.
Another great thing about Karuvepillai Foods is the generous portions. A portion of chicken biriyani with all the frills attached is 980/- A portion is very filling and to be honest, I had it for lunch the next day too. It was equally as delicious the next day too, if not more.
Oooh also! The cashews, they did not hold back, not on the chicken or cashews.
Conclusion
Overall, Karuvapillai Food has some of the best homemade food out there, you will definitely not be disappointed by taste, quality or quantity.
