The Tommy Hilfiger franchise is now in Colombo at the Arcade Independence Square. The quality of the stuff is great, the prices are high, and they have a decent variety, mostly for men.
Clothes & Prices
On our visit, there was a lot of plaid on display, so if you’re into plaid, this is your jam. Shirts are generally in the Rs. 7K+ range, and pants are in the Rs. 20K range. Yes, it’s very expensive, but then again, it’s a designer franchise with more than 200 stores world-wide. This store is also a legit franchise, no knock-offs and they’re presumably following the global fashion seasons.
If you’ve got the cash on you, you can find some very high quality cotton and silk shirts here in pleasant colours. The pants range was more limited, save for the collection of jeans.
There’s a section of warm wear for both men and women here, so this is a good place for designer winter clothing if you’re heading to colder climes.
There isn’t a lot for female customers at the store – some winter wear and a couple of interesting tops (Rs. 7-10K). If you’re into owning designer brand accessories though, you can check out the store’s small collection of Tommy Hilfiger shoes, slippers and bags, in the Rs. 10K range.
Service & Ambience
The store is pretty nice and looks a lot like other designer shops at the Arcade, like the Galleria. It’s a self-service sort of space, and there’s a comfy sofa with international reading material near the handbag section.
Conclusion
The TH store has got a standard range of men’s clothing, and it’s especially good for quality shirts and maybe a Tommy Hilfiger pair of jeans. The prices are hefty though, so if you really want to own some designer wear and you can afford it then it’s not a bad place to stop by.
