We don’t normally do poetry, but since Elephant House has released a new drink called Twistee we wrote something with all the ‘ee’ rhymes we could think of. Comment if you can think of any more rhymes.
I climbed a tree
That was in the sea
It was occupied by manatees
One said to me
‘Hi there, hee hee
Would you like to be my employee?’
I said ‘let me see’
To the sea-tree manatee
He nodded his head and did decree
‘You shall work for me!
And for free!
And never may you be an absentee!’
I had to pee
So I said ‘excuse me’
And swam to the shore and also had some tea
And then with glee
I got on one knee
And proposed to Leo Fibonacci
(He died in the 13th century
And now is a zombie)
He said ‘But what about the manatee?’
‘I will wed thee’
I told he
‘And we’ll live with the sea-tree manatees’
He said ‘I must flee’
And drank his coffee
And left me without a fiancee
The sea-tree manatee
Now on land, a refugee
Found me and offered me a toffee
‘Come work in my factory,
We manufacture frisbees
You’ll be happy with us, I foresee!’
I said ‘I disagree’,
Finished my thosai and chutney
And travelled back home to finish my degree
