Sri Lankan Summer Camps For Kids (2015).

This August marks the start of school holidays. Here are a few places that will keep you sane while your kids are occupied with fun activities.

Summer Blast 2015

Age group: 3-10 years

Summer Blast 2015 is a three week camp for kids. Week 1 is from the 10th to the 14th, week 2 is from the 17th to the 21st and week three is from the 24th to the 28th. The camp includes sewing, baking, a day at the beach, crafts, and music, there will also be camping as well as a pyjama and movie day.

Kids Hip Hop Summer Dance Camp


Age group: 6 years and upwards

A three-day camp for kids who are into a bit of dancing and hip hop. The aim of the camp is to build more confidence through interaction with other children with similar interests while having a good time. The camp will have dance sessions, poster competitions, arts and crafts, and dance movie sessions. There’ll be a snack and juice provided on all three days provided free of charge including a Dance Factory t-shirt, dance portrait and a certificate of completion.

Holidays Are Fun With Jittabugs

Age group: 2.5 – 6 years

Every Monday and Friday send your tiny tots to Jittabugs for fun times. Activities include music, dance, drama, story telling, art & craft, multi-sensorial, outdoor/water play (depending on the weather), indoor games, and team games.

Dates: Mondays and Fridays in August
Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Arty Labs

Age group: toddlers & mums

Here’s an interactive class for both mums and babies. Every Saturday morning spend some creative time with your toddler painting and crafting at Arty Labs.

Kids Yoga at the Om Space

Age group: 6 – 11 year olds

The Om Space is hosting a camp this summer for 6 to 11 year olds. They will teach your kids yoga, while also having fun playing and taking part in craft activities.

Dates: 20th July to 12th August on Mondays and Wednesdays

Holiday Workshop For Kids


Age group: 4 -15 years

This one’s already begun. We’ve missed the first date but there are two more days to go and you still can hop aboard. On one day you will learn to make cartoon character cupcakes and on the other, sun and sea themed cupcakes.

Dolly Making & Dress Up Camp

Age group: 6 and upwards

If your little ones love playing dress up with their dolls, are fashion conscious and would like to dabble in a little needle and thread, here is the camp for them.Studio Stitch has a couple of programmes lined up for the August holidays.

Vacation Bible School

Lots of churches in and around Colombo are also hosting their annual vacation Bible School. Most of which are open to non-Christians as well.

Kollupitiya Methodist Church

The Kollupitiya Methodist Church is having VBS for kids aged 3 – 16 years of age. It’s called the Bee Kingdom and will include crafts and play times.

Camp Kreativ 2015

Age group: 4 to 19 year olds

If your kids are 4 to 19 years of age, there is an intensive camp from the 10th to the 16th of August. The camp includes baking, textile and craft, dance, improvisation of puppetry, cartooning, story telling and photography. All of these will be conducted by professionals in the field.
