Friday 13th June
The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon
In this play Zolidias, who is Zoldias you ask. Don Zolidias is the guy who wrote The Brothers Grimm Speculathon in 2007 based on the classic fairy tale recorded by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in 1812. What is interesting is Zoldias has managed to squeeze all 209 Grimm fairy tales into a fast-paced, rollicking whimsical comedy that turns all the tales on their heads, where the audience is always kept guessing about what will come next. 7.30 PM at the Bishops College Auditorium 15, Boyd Place, Colombo 03, Colombo.
Saturday 14th June
It’s no ordinary cat. It’s a talking cat. Not only that the cat is a sophisticated single lady cat. That’s the talking cat we’re on about. It’s a bag toting fashion plate. The English Union of Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya presents the musical You’ve Got It Pussycat based on Judith Prior’s ‘What’s New Pussycat’. I think kids get to have all the fun and do all the fun things. The Solidarity Center is organizing a musical concert to celebrate the international domestic workers day which falls on 16 June 2014. The concert’s aims is to raise awareness among Sri Lankan employees of local domestic workers as well as general awareness regarding the plight of Sri Lankan migrant domestic workers abroad. Back to the eighties with music from Belinda Carlisle, to Gloria Estefan, Starship, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Queen and much more will be performed by Soul Sounds the internationally acclaimed choir from Sri Lanka.
