A cricket match is always a big deal. If it's got Sri Lanka playing, it's an even bigger deal. And if it's got a star Lankan player, in this case The Great, The Amazing, The Founder of the Dilscoop, Tillakaratne Dilshan playing his last game, it has got to be of the biggest deals ever.
Tomorrow, Keththarama is going to be teeming with hot girls in their buttshorts and Sri Lankan T shirts and hot boys in their aviators at 8 pm, but you won't be there to witness it. #SadLife
But we got your back, boo!
Here are places you can go to put a little chat over some beers or some fries while screaming batting advice to our amazing players!
Havelock Sports Club
If you are not a member, you cannot watch it at their clubhouse, but a member is allowed to take guests for 50 bucks per head. For ladies, it's free (as long as they are with a guest)!
Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC)
The same "members only" rule applies to SSC, but they are free to take guests as long as the number is not above five.
Rs 100 per guest and sorry, ladies, SSC is all for equality because you won't get to walk in free to their clubhouse and cheer on without a fee.
Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC)
NCC doesn't charge for guests, but if members are bringing a large crowd, they are recommended to call beforehand.
Colombo Swimming Club
Colombo Swimming Club will be screening the match too although on TVs and not a giant screen.
They will charge 60 rupees per head.
CH & FC
CH & FC = sweet buggers
You can watch the match for free at the CH & FC grounds!
No bias. No prejudice. No charges. Very sweet.
The Manchester
For live music, beers, and to witness their annual beer festival while watching the match on TV, head to The Manchester.
Chatz
To watch the match on a large screen out in the open Chatz will help you out.
Playtrix
Playtrix had the buzz for all matches until they closed down, but now they are up and running although at a new location. They are now at the Racecourse Complex and will be screening the match on their TVs.
Yay to Playtrix first and then Disques after the match.
The Barnesbury
No beers here, but for shisha and chill with a bit of Dinesh Chandimal on the side, head over to The Barnesbury.
The match will be screened at their courtyard.
Loft Lounge (Colombo Courtyard)
Their 55 inch screen will have you sorted for the match with a few drinks on the side.
Cheers (Cinnamon Grand)
Cheers, as usual, will be in the scene for providing an English environment for your Sri Lankan – Australian match.
The Cricket Club Cafe
If The Cricket Club Cafe does not screen the ultimate cricket match of the month, who will?
You can check out their new spot while watching the hot Australian cricketers on a 55 inch screen.
&Co (The Steuart)
Up for some ribs while watching the match? &Co can help you with that.
But what do you do if you have already busted your August pay and are a little too broke to afford some fancy beers and ribs?
1. Be the party planner and call your friends over or organize something at a friend's house and get some pizzas and coke (the legal kind)!
2. Watch it online on your phone, laptop or tablet while eating out of a tub of icecream, reflecting on why you could not have planned ahead.
3. Listen to the live commentary on the radio while closing your eyes and picturing yourself as one of the spectators at the stadium. You can buy a flag and wave it around in your room. Lock it to avoid embarassment.
The cool thing about live updates on the radio is that it's a little faster than the ones on TV. So, you can be a little evil and issue continuous spoilers until someone pours hot metal down your ears.
4. JUMP IN TO KETHTHARAMA WITHOUT A TICKET! It's blaaady cool to be badass and rot away in jail because #swagYo
Happy cricket match watching!
