PappaRich
The Malaysian food scene in Colombo is finally picking up, and now PappaRich is here too. A well-known international franchise restaurant with over 100 branches worldwide, they do good Malaysian fare, which is quite friendly on the pocket. Make sure to try their Nasi Lemak, and pair it with a glass of Milo Dino.
The Catch Colombo
The Catch Colombo does fried fish right. They come with some interesting sauces and you can pick a carb (steamed rice, fried rice, roast paan) of your choice too. Try their kochchi sauce and cry happy tears!
Jolly's Ice Cream
Jolly's excels at Lankanising the Western flavours of ice cream. You can clearly taste this from their Salted Pani Kaju, Tinkiri, Kiri Kopi ice cream flavours. Plus, they've got seasonal stuff. This avurudu, they're making kiribath ice cream with pol pani topping.
EDO Japanese Restaurant
If you are planning to hang out at CCC this weekend, and have got some cash in your wallet, why not stop by EDO? They do some delicious Japanese fare, with full-on authentic touch. Chicken Katsudon here is a must try.
Chips & Dips
If you have a weakness for fries and are tired of dipping them in the same old ketchup/mayo, Chips & Dips is where you SHOULD go. They've got a number of interesting dipping sauces that you can pair your fries with – Meaty Chicken, Cheesy, and Thai etc. If fries aren't your thang (um, what's wrong with you?), you can try out their range of burgers, which is also supposed to be quite amazing.
Happi Foods
Happi Foods is a fragment of a restaurant that belongs to Cajun On Wheels. They are known for whipping up some giant bowls of soup and rice-centred specialities with a Singaporean touch. Everything on the menu here is priced at Rs. 600, and it's worth every rupee you pay for it.
